Remember when you asked me not to blog about this?
You know you’ve reached a certain point in your career as a pseudo-blogger when your friends start asking you not to blog about certain things:
The tail-end of a lengthy discussion on those who live life superficially vs. those who don’t (also known as CHANEL, YOU THINK TOO MUCH):
The Friend says: (10:37:11 PM)
You drive me crazyThe Friend says: (10:37:20 PM)
And this is just MSNThe Friend says: (10:37:30 PM)
… Please don’t write a blog on this :P
With more and more of my offline friends, family and acquaintances finding this website (which, admittedly, isn’t hard; all you need to do is google me), the subject of my online writings have never come up more often. Specifically, the question of “You’re not going to blog about this, are you?”
To those offline friends, family and acquaintances, and maybe our mailman: I am on the hunt for my next project and new material. Lock your doors. Maybe even close your windows. But be especially careful what you say or do around me, because you never know—it might just end up on here.

I wouldn’t sleep at night if my family or offline friends found my blog… I’d be to paranoid to post anything, thinking that they would react just like that, just like your friends react!
Reply: Actually, I’ve never had anyone negatively react to my blog or anything I’ve written in it! You’ve just got to use discernment; don’t write anything you wouldn’t mind the whole world reading. Then you can sleep at night. :)
May 1st, 2008 at 1:41 pmThat’s why I haven’t told anyone (other than my wife and one co-worker) about my site. So far, so good. No one else knows about it. My wife sometimes asks me not to blog about certain things but sometimes she actually suggests topics.
May 1st, 2008 at 9:48 pmI get this a lot too. Too bad, people I know, you’re getting blogged about!
May 2nd, 2008 at 11:33 amI think only one offline friend knows about my current site and I really don’t write anything too scandelous to begin with :P.
Just to be careful…
*locks doors, closes windows”
:D
May 2nd, 2008 at 3:28 pmBack in high school when I was always bitter and/or annoyed at someone or another, I use to vent my anger out on my blog and write about what pissed me off that day implying lots of people although not mentioning any names. It was pretty obvious sometimes though. When I think back to it, I feel really bad but then I don’t really regret it either because they deserved it back then. LOL. Just kidding… not really. The good thing is that I’ve gained respect for MOST of the people that use to piss me off so much.
But yeah, that’s why I have a lot of private/password protected entries now because I don’t want people finding out so much about my life and so I can control who reads my deeper posts. It works well. =P
May 2nd, 2008 at 10:08 pmI have yet to really run into this experience. Doubt that any of my aquaintances have found my blog, and it’s very rare that I blog about many personal events anyway. There are a few times, when I might rant or rave about someone, and although I don’t really mention names, I still make it pretty obvious. lol.
Password protected posts work well. :)
May 3rd, 2008 at 3:28 pmI don’t have that problem because I have like 2 regular visitors, one being me – it pays to be unknown YAY.
May 4th, 2008 at 12:11 amI get that from my two bestfriends, the only one’s who know my blog exists. Whenever something bizarre or some sort of “event” happens to me they say, “You are SO gonna blog about that.” Hahaha.
May 4th, 2008 at 7:05 amThat’s why I never let anyone from my offline life find out about my blog. It’s just too awkward.
May 4th, 2008 at 8:59 pmOuch, dawg.
Reply: Hehehe. You made it on my blog! ;)
