Early tomorrow morning we’re off to Salt Lake City, Utah to attend the 6th annual XanGo Convention. Some of you may recall that I went last year and it was an absolute blast—and also like last year, that invitation to stalk me down still stands.

This year we’re driving down instead of flying. This is what my mother had to say about that:

Me: “You know, tonight is election night and tomorrow morning we’re going to be driving through a Republican state to get to an even more Republican state…”

My mother: “Oh no! If Obama wins, there will be violence on the road!”

And she was totally serious. Aren’t Canadians cute?

Meanwhile, I’m curious: Who do you think will win the 2008 U.S. Presidential election tonight, and why?

Dress warm! It’s been raining/hailing/snowing here. I might go downtown sometime this weekend….how long will you be around?

Reply: Yeah, I heard/read! I’m packing my winter jacket and all warm clothes… hopefully it will be warm *enough*. I will be in Salt Lake City until Sunday. :)

Undoubtedly Obama! I just kept mum because I didn’t want to jinx my prediction. He had leftover campaign moolah during the Democratic Presidential race whereas Hillary Clinton went in deficit before she even lost the race. Then Barry Obama still had plenty of money left in his 2008 campaign when McCain ran out two weeks ago. There’s hope for better economy. It’s also time for Americans to stop increasing their fear of the Middle East, and this fear will continue unless the president keeps a stable relationship with the Middle East among other countries we have strained relationship with. I always worry about my close Persian friend whose brother still lives in Iran. Bottom line: We really need a fresh face in this country!

Good luck in very Republican Utah, and have fun!!

Reply: Ah, very true! And thank you, I shall :)

I knew Obama was going to win no doubt. I even cried when he won even though everyone expected it.

Reply: Isn’t it funny how we get more into the American election than our own? :P

Crossing my fingers for safe passage through the Republican states! LOL!
Woop woop for Obama! I think you should fly an Obama banner behind your car. ;-)

Reply: Thanks! And hahaha, that would be funny right up until the part where we get shot. ;)
