This is what you’ll be pulling out from the vacuum for the rest of your life:

Suggestion: It’s probably in your best interest to agree with me when I say we should rip up the carpets and lay hardwood down instead.

You think that’s bad, you should see what Dylan pulled out of the drain of his shower. I’m so classy, I managed to block the drain with clumps of hair. Take your clump and multiply it by four or five. :P
Reply: I’ve blocked the drain with hair before too. =\ The nastiest thing is when your wet drain hair gets mixed with clumps of soap and slime…

@Amanda, yeah the whole drain thing is groooooosssss. Once mum pulled out like a 12-inch lump. And half of it wasn’t black hair… (our family’s asian, so uhh… previous owners’?! gross!!!)

Oh my god, yes. I hate carpeting so much because of this. Tiles and hardwood ftw!
Our sink drain got clogged once… there was a large block of unidentified substances that had to be removed. It was gag-inducing. x.x

January 12th, 2010 at 9:02 pmI’m extremely pleased that you will be making your husband pull stuff out of the vacuum instead of doing it yourself.
Because I’m always the one pulling my partner’s foot and a half long hair from the vacuum cleaner :(

January 12th, 2010 at 9:05 pmI’d like to rub it in your face that I very happily have hardwood floors throughout the duplex :-D But I’ll pray for your future hubbie to give in to the floor of your choice ;-)

January 12th, 2010 at 9:44 pmI lose so much hair on a daily basis and I still have too much of it :P Blocked drains is the worst… like you said, especially when it gets mixed with soap/slime.
I can’t wait to get married so I don’t have to deal with any of that >:D

January 13th, 2010 at 12:44 pmYeah, I have this HUGE lump of hair on my floor from my hair brush. I mean… I think it’s on my floor. My cat dragged it out of my garbage can, so who knows where it is now?

January 15th, 2010 at 9:11 pmThe same thing happens to me – I have thick, long hair that seems to be constantly falling out (yet I don’t seem to be close to balding…) It’s the worst when it gets stuck in the shower drain because then it’s just vomit-inducing.

January 17th, 2010 at 6:26 amMy husband is always nagging at me about the hair down the drain. Sometimes I forget to grab it after a shower, and he get so grossed out about it. I shed quite a bit of hair in the shower, and some when I brush my hair. I lose so much of it sometimes I fear I’m going bald, but really, I just have very thick hair!

January 17th, 2010 at 10:34 amThere is globs of hair stuck in my carpet. :( Gross. My room is rather tiny and cramped, and it’s hard to fit a vacuum in here, so I have to resort to pulling the hair out of the carpet, if I can. I think hard wood floor looks nice, but it can get really dirty too. Just make sure you mop it frequently, if you decide to go that route.

January 17th, 2010 at 3:51 pmOh my. I think I almost just died from laughter.
But my vacuum is pretty gross too, we have 3 dogs and 2 women who have thick hair that loves to fall out.

Because they reference the hair in drain thing and oh my god, so true. You should have seen my boyfriend’s face the first time he pulled hair out of the shower drain.
He moved out shortly after.

January 19th, 2010 at 11:58 pmBut the hardwood floors will be so cold in the winter, dearest!
Btw, hair in the vacuum is not a big deal compared to slimy wet shower drain hair. Every time I clean it out for my sister, I feel I’ve ascended in character somewhere close to Ghandi.

January 20th, 2010 at 9:29 amIt’s funny that I stumbled upon this post, because I was actually cleaning out my shower area, and I had to clean out something along the lines of what is being shown in the photo. Just, well, a less tame version because it was went and full of detritus formed from shampoo and other junk. It’s rarely a pleasant sight.
Can’t wait to start vacuuming my place this weekend (/sarcasm)!
