There will always be people in the world who will try to tear you down.

We don’t always mean harm, even if we cause it. It has been said before that we can only hate the things in people that we ourselves have within us. Sometimes, we lash out; problems, clutter and baggage in our lives can wear down our abilities to be empathetic and cut our human patience short.

Sometimes, it’s just a matter of being in the wrong place, at the wrong time. There are times in life where we are more quick to snap; more quick to find an outlet to release our own frustrations and shortcomings on to someone else. One day we’ll feel bad that that outlet had to be you.

Sometimes, we’ve just been kicked too many times before. Maybe someone tramped on our dreams before you came along with dreams just like the ones we used to have. Deep wounds often express themselves in sharp tongues, vicious words and vindictive spirits, but it is imperative to remember that people aren’t cruel, just wounded. Someone did it to us before, and now we’re going to do it to you. All it took was one person to set the bar, and the rest of the world to follow.

Your strengths show our weaknesses, and we may hate your for that. But you try so hard, you know? Sometimes, even if we may give you the roughest time, we secretly hope that you will be able to succeed where we couldn’t; to make it possible where it seemed impossible. Sure, it might not have been us, but at least it was someone.

Today, just remember: the people carrying the ball are the only ones ever tackled.

Thank you for this entry; it made me think of things in a different way and see others’ actions from a different perspective that I tend to ignore…

P.S. I actually listened to this post; you have a great voice! :P

Reply: I’m glad you got something out of it. :) And thank you!

Awww, I am profoundly deaf. Care to type in what your voice said? (Thanks, Kaylee!) If you prefer to wait until more readers respond, no problem ;-)

But your entry did make me think, too. I always think outside the box and love to hear other people’s perspective outside the other side of the same box.

Reply: Oh, it was just me reading the entry I wrote, so you didn’t miss anything… but I’m glad the entry made you think! :)

    Hello~~
I loved this post. I always try to keep in mind that people do things for a reason…but sometimes, when I am frustrated myself, I forget. It’s important to have an open mind and understand why people do the things they do~

I have never listened to a blog post before! It was really cool ^____^

Reply: I’m glad you liked it. :) Absolutely - you’re totally right. I always try to place myself in the other person’s shoes; it’s hard sometimes, but totally worth it once you start to see things even a little bit from the other person’s point of view.
