As we were driving to Salt Lake City, somewhere between Eastern and Western Oregon on either the I-82 E or the I-84 E (too specific, I know), we ran into a particular stretch of consecutive highway exits with the most bizarre (not to mention, creepy) names.
First there was the exit to Coffin Road. Next came Poverty Flat. Following that, Old Emmigrant Road. But my personal favorite? The exit to Deadman’s Pass with the gigantic sign next to it saying—and I kid you not—”DRIVE SAFELY!”
Just one of the many reasons I love road trips: you never know what you’ll see.

I remember when I was driving from Alabama to California I saw some interesting names. The one that sticks out the most was a sign “Timbuktu – 10 Miles”
I love this picture.
LOVE that picture!
I remember when our family took a road trip through PA, we had to turn around in a long driveway of a creepy old mansion (with a family cemetery beside it to boot). The road sign at the end of the drive? BLOOD DRIVE.
Still gives me shivers.
Pennsylvania has an old castle on Hill Road and Spook Lane. The site itself as well as driving at night is too spooky for me, really. Almost no street lights. On a more humorous side PA has some cities such as Intercourse, Blue Bell, Virginville, Gap, New Hope, Bird-In-Hand, the list goes on and on.

Once, I was on a road trip with some close friends in south west Europe. We got ourselves a car hire and we were driving through the night as we wanted to watch the sunrise while on the road. We all were so drowsy and we just had to stay awake. I realise it would’ve been better to stay in a motel and leave really early in the morning to catch the sun rise. But sometimes you end up doing crazy thingss!!
As we were going along the road, we were looking out for road signs so that we would know how far we had to drive and came across a sign that said — Caution: Water on Road during Rain.. Obviously there’s gonna be water when it’s pouring right??!!! It was so hilarious. Thanks to that sign, we didn’t sleep for the entire night and kept cracking up!!
